Auditions - Disney's The Lion King Kids

AUDITIONS
for the Deegan Children’s Theatre/Spencer Community Theatre production of
Disney’s The Lion King KIDS
will be held SATURDAY, June 19th and SATURDAY, June 26th, 2021

About Auditions (Where do I go? What do I do?)
When are auditions?  Where do I go?

Auditions are June 19th & June 26th at 2:30 PM at the SCT Playhouse: located at 518- 1st Ave. E. in Spencer.  Doors open half an hour prior to stated audition time.  Please note that it is not necessary to attend both audition times; one or the other will suffice. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic, please do not attend if you are feeling ill and please continue to practice safe, practical social distancing guidelines and hygiene practices.

Who can audition? What kinds of roles are available?
Roles are available for youth ages 6-14. Roles and character descriptions are listed at the end of this announcement!

What do I need to bring with me?  Should I prepare anything in advance?
Please be prepared to sing, dance, and act! We’ll have a song for everyone to sing, teach a short piece of choreography, play some theatre and improv games, and read from the script.

Please be aware of any potential scheduling conflicts-there will be room on the audition form for you to list your availability.

Closed Auditions
Auditions for Disney’s The Lion King Kids are closed, meaning that only the individuals auditioning and the Directing/Management team of the production are allowed in the audition space.

Dropping Off & Picking Up
Auditions will last approximately 2 hours, but this is just an estimation- the number of kids who show up to audition affects how long they run; we do our best to keep it within 2 hours.  Please come in with your child to auditions at the beginning so you can fill out the audition form for them, or help them fill out the audition form (this is especially important in regards to the schedule part of the audition form).  Once the form is filled out and auditions begin, we ask that parents/guardians leave and come back after a couple of hours.  You may also instruct your child to call you when they are finished with the audition; a phone will be available for them to call you.
