Facilities:
The Spencer Community Theatre is ramp accessible and can accommodate both wheelchair and companion seating in the center section of the auditorium. Limited mobility, zero grade entrances to the auditorium are located on the north and south sides. Wheel accessibility to the box office is available through both the Main Lobby and South Lobby entrances. 1st Avenue East provides ample handicapped parking with easy access to ramp entrances at both the Main and South Lobbies.
A water fountain accessible to individuals with limited mobility is located in the South Lobby. Restrooms accessible to individuals of limited mobility are located off the north side of the Main Lobby with signage to reflect this accessibility with both visual graphic and braille translation.
An ADA certified lift and ramp supporting up to 750 lbs. is located off of the South Lobby in the Rotary Classroom with zero grade entry. This lift gives access to the stage, scene shop, green rooms and green room restrooms.

SCT’s website has recently be updated to include a tab for accessibility information for the convenience of patrons and volunteers.
For those with visual impairments, large print programs are available upon request free of charge at each SCT performance.
Deegan Children’s Theatre programming is organized to seamlessly integrate the presence of Paraeducators. Paraeducators provide assistance for a variety of students including those with and without disabilities, with health needs, with limited English, and others. They provide instructional support to children during camps and well as aid to the instructors. The service of paraeducators contributes significantly to the success of individual children within the camp setting.
SCT has secured funding for the purchase of assistive listening system and devices to be made available at all performances. The system also empowers those that prefer discretion during use to connect wirelessly through their mobile devices to their personal hearing aid device. The upgrade to our current sound system is completed and the system is available.
